Operations Manager

Summary of position: Effective, efficient and excellent operational delivery of all projects and contracts whilst maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and health & safety standards. Professional line management of all operational direct reports ensuring high levels of staff competencies and training are maintained, aligned with consistent engagement with clients and supply chains to deliver operational excellence. Strict compliance and adherence with the relevant form of contract on all contracted work undertaken. Ensuring the Clients job management system (JMS) is kept updated with work order information from sales leads to completion status. Support the business in winning work opportunities and develop/ maintain positive client working relationships.
Primary and general responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for operations management by working in partnership with clients to ensure that operational expectations are met, building positive working relationships with client representatives.
  • Continuously monitor the overall performance of the contract / project, ensuring the contract SLA's / KPIs are achieved at all times.
  • Efficiently manage project resources, reviewing and ensuring that contractual obligations are always met and maintained.
  • Generate and monitor when required project mobilisation plans for successful completion, ensure monthly project forms and work in progress reports are generated for every project, ensure the content is comprehensive and accurate.
  • Generate project work programmes for contracts within your responsibility and ensure adherence to the contractual works programme and ensure it is regularly updated and amendments or revisions issued to the client in line with the contract terms.
  • Complete and implement construction health & safety plans, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Ensure supplier and subcontractor scope of works are carried out in line with the client's specifications on all projects / contract works.
  • Hold regular monthly performance reviews with supply chains to manage relationships and drive work improvements where required.
  • Monitor the quality and safety outputs and ensure the Clients JMS IT system is kept up to date with all relevant health & safety project data.

Knowledge & Experience required:

  • Very good understanding of construction / FM industry standard forms of contract and agreements.
  • Good project planning and programming skills.
  • Proficient in the use and the application of MS projects IT applications and platforms.
  • Must understand and implement excellent Health & Safety Standards.
  • Over 10 years Contract management experience within the construction / FM sector, delivering operational planned and reactive repairs & maintenance projects.

Qualifications:

  • BSc Construction management.
  • IOSH Managing or leading safely.
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid 3-day qualification
  • NVQ Level 6 or equivalent
