Your new company
Hays Education are supporting a number of schools in the Southport area with their recruitment of primary Teaching Assistants, supporting on a 1:1 basis with SEN students. We support schools with both day to day and long-term contracts with the possibility to go permanent from next academic year. Ideally, we are looking for someone that can commit to full-time equivalent hours, but part-time options are available.
Your new role
You will be supporting children with additional needs such as ASD, LD, behavioural needs including EBD. You may be required to provide some personal care depending on the needs of the child, and you will need to be comfortable dealing with some challenging behaviours.
You will support children to thrive in the classroom and help them to stay focussed and get the most out of their education. You will help them to manage triggers, support them emotionally and build a trusting relationship.
You will support the class teacher day to day and help with activities in the class.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be passionate about supporting children in education to thrive, as well as be calm, patient and understanding. You will have experience working in schools, ideally with SEN / 1:1 experience.
You will have the full right to work in the UK and ideally, you will be able to commit to full-time work.
