If you have a background as a Laboratory Assistant, then we have an exciting new role that would be great for you!

With more than 30 years industry experience Isothane Ltd are a leading developer and manufacturer of polyurethanes. Over the years Isothane has accumulated a wealth of experience in providing innovative solutions and well formulated and dependable products.

The successful Laboratory Assistant will work as part of the laboratory team to assist with quality control, research and development of polyurethane based products and raw materials. As well as general laboratory duties.

  • 40 hours per week - Mon - Thurs, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm and Friday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities of the Laboratory Assistant:

  • Laboratory testing and assessment of polyurethane chemical raw materials and formulated systems.
  • Prepare and test development samples, of polyurethane system products in line with company test procedures.
  • Quality control testing of products during manufacture.
  • Verifying and communicating results obtained, to make appropriate entries in the required records and to generate reports for release to customers.
  • Collect, receive and log in samples to the required systems for analysis.
  • Maintain documentation as required to meet various accreditations such as ISO9001.

Skills & Experience required:

  • A level or equivalent in science, preferably chemistry based.
  • Experience in a lab environment, preferably in the polyurethane industry would be an advantage.
  • Experience and knowledge of polymer and related chemicals testing.
  • Familiarity with KF and titration methodologies.
  • General quality control testing experience.
  • Good communication, problem solving and organisational skills.
  • A full driving license.
