Dealership Accountant

An established and highly successful automotive business is searching the market for a Dealership Accountant located in the Reading area. With a presence encompassing a large geographic area and decades of success in their trade, this is a leading business to join within the sector, and as a result of their ongoing success, the business has excellent growth plans for the future, resulting in various opportunities coming forth in the near future. This role in particular will cover the Thames Valley area, supporting multiple dealerships with finance related duties and responsibilities, and will gain the position holder excellent experience handling a range of accounting tasks, as well as some leadership and mentoring experience as well.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Managing the preparation of financial statements, commentaries, budgets and business plans to support stakeholders and senior management
  • Ensuring the monthly management accounts are produced and performing accurate analysis of these
  • Handling the vehicle stocking, credit and expenditure for the sites
  • Undertaking forecasting activities
  • Giving financial informational and proactive advice to local teams as and when they need it, acting as a key point of contact and expert of financial matters
  • Communicating with auditors, both internally and externally, ensuring they are provided with the correct information and reports they are needed to undertake audits
  • Controlling the income and expenditure
  • Taking leadership of a small team consisting of both finance/accounts and administration professionals

What you will need to Apply:

The ideal candidate for this role will have considerable experience from within a similar relevant role, working in a financial and management accounting capacity. Experience within the automotive sector would also be highly required to be considered for this opportunity. Working knowledge is CDK (Kerridge) is essential for this role, as well as exposure to P&L accounts and handling end of year reporting. Good communication skills are expected.
