Band 4: £14.79/hr - 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 08.00-16.30 (1 hour lunch)

Role Overview

As a Handyperson/Painter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the hospital's facilities. You will have a good general knowledge of commercial and domestic buildings, and your duties will include carrying out statutory checks, such as fire door inspections, in line with current applicable legislation. Your role will require you to work independently as well as part of a team, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct general maintenance and repair work across all Trust buildings.
  • Perform painting and decorating tasks to a high standard, including preparation and application of materials.
  • Carry out statutory checks, including fire door inspections, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Plan and arrange your work, parts, and materials effectively.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in painting, decorating, and general maintenance.
  • Sound knowledge of painting and decorating techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to plan and manage workload.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Previous experience in an NHS or healthcare setting is advantageous but not essential.
  • This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
