The Group Head of IT Operations will manage the daily operation side of IT delivery into our business units within the EU.

Supporting the Group CIO, the Head of IT Operations will deputise to cover absence as and when required. Responsible for the smooth and efficient operational delivery of IT, you will ensure the standards and processes are delivered efficiently and your team continues to deliver a premium service to our customers.

As deputy for the Group CIO, you will support and direct the other team managers ensuring the priorities are recognised and governance is appropriately executed.

With very strong technical skills, you will translate business requirements into the technology team, exercising strong interpersonal and leadership qualities. With strong motivational and technical skills and be proactive in maintaining and developing the existing systems.

Main Responsibilities

Safety & Security, including:

  • Ensuring safety culture is embedded throughout the IT team.
  • Protecting the organisation from cyber-related attacks through systems risk minimisation, up-to-date security, fit for purpose resilience, and disaster recovery management.
  • Implementing and maintaining robust cyber security measures to protect the company's data, systems, and intellectual property.
  • Maintaining compliance with organisational policies, governance, procedures, and internal controls.

Customer Service, including:

  • Delivering high-quality IT service (internally and externally) across all disciplines.
  • Optimising existing systems and application support performance and reliability, including communications.
  • Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and reliable IT infrastructure and controls, including networks, hardware, servers, and databases.

Strategy & Planning, including:

  • Developing and communicating the IT vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with the organisation's goals.
  • Collaborating with the senior team and business units to understand their technological needs, drive effective change management, and lead the future IT strategies for systems, technology, and automation to improve performance whilst enhancing customer service.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to prioritise IT initiatives and allocate the appropriate resources.
  • Managing IT budgeting, cost control, and investment decisions.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of IT projects to ensure timely delivery and high-quality implementation.

Innovation, including:

  • Monitoring industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure competitiveness and innovation.
  • Providing recommendations to enhance business performance and new business opportunities, acting as a strategic business partner to the business.
  • Challenging established thinking with new ways of working, particularly with engagement and leadership.
  • Developing a 'solution-focused' innovation approach in working collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Building and leading a high-performing IT team, promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation.

About You

  • Expertise in forming a team to support ICT Strategy, proven people and change management skills
  • Knowledge of ITT, RFIs procedures & formal project methodologies
  • Aware of market trends in the IT industry
  • Must have at least 10 years IT experience with a Minimum of 2 years running IT function as IT Manager or senior manager or equivalent
  • Proven project, resource and supplier management and development & maintenance of large ICT systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent understanding and proven knowledge and experience in Cybersecurity
