Claims Team Leader

Rev & Regs are recruiting for a Claims Team Leader for a well-renowned multinational insurance company. The role can be based in Manchester or Croydon.

The Claims team deal with assessing and managing indemnity provided to policyholders for the purpose of pursuing/defending a range of legal action, including employment, property and contractual dispute and fitness to practise investigations.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of the Claims Manager, lead and manage a team of claim handlers using best practice including regular 1-2-1s.
  • Support the Claims Manager and other senior leaders in the development and promotion of the legal expenses team.
  • Take responsibility for and oversight of all claims handled within by the legal expenses team to include monitoring and overseeing the progress of individual team members' objectives set by the Claims Manager.
  • Ensure that all claims handled by the legal expenses team are handled in a proactive manner and in accordance with the Claims Philosophy.
  • Take full responsibility and accountability for your workload of claims covering the varied classes of business handled by the legal expenses claims team.
  • Have a detailed knowledge of policy wordings and their application for all the varied classes of business handled by the legal expenses claims team.
  • Support the Claims Manager in the oversight of the external service providers and TPAs used by the legal expenses claims team and maximise the effectiveness of who we use.
  • Ensure good and regular lines of communication exist with key brokers and that relationships are maintained.
  • Act on feedback on claims service and address any problems quickly (and escalate if needed).
  • Contribute to claims team projects as required by the Claims Manager

Experience required:

  • Have proven leadership capability or demonstrate the ability to lead a team.
  • Have either legal qualifications or will be a claims practitioner with relevant experience including studying towards or having a real desire to study towards CII qualifications.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook and must become fully competent with our in-house systems.
  • Have excellent time management skills, in order to adhere to demanding service level standards and maintain an active case load.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
