Job Objective:
To supervise Finance Assistants and perform various accounting tasks to support the timely production of management reports and statistics.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly management information reports.
2. Maintain control accounts to ensure financial system integrity.
3. Handle costing and calculation of Additional Learning Support.
4. Maximize income streams, grants, and other funding.
5. Populate and manage Learners Placement Agreements
6. Manage the banking of income.
7. Complete banking sheets accurately.
8. Generate sales invoices in a timely manner.
9. Perform recharges by journal and invoicing.
10. Resolve bank statement queries and produce bank reconciliations.
11. Comply with Data Security Policy and Data Protection Act.
12. Assist with budget preparation and final accounts.
13. Post cash book entries.
14. Set up instalment arrangements for debtors.
15. Prepare and distribute statements and letters to debtors.
16. Update debtors' records with communication details.
17. Ensure regular payment and reconciliation of support funds.
18. Liaise with departments and external bodies regarding debts.
19. Prepare monthly debtor reports and monitor non-payments.
20. Record and update bad debts.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in a Finance department
- GCSE Maths and English grade A-C or equivalent
- Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping
- Experience with financial software
- Knowledge of month-end procedures
- Experience with spreadsheets
- Experience in small to medium-sized business accounts
- Experience managing debts
- Experience with bank reconciliations
Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of financial systems and procedures
- Strong IT skills, especially in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to work across multiple locations
