We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Science Teacher (ECT) to join our team at a forward-thinking academy. This is an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher to grow and develop in a supportive environment, contributing to the provision of an excellent education for our students.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Deliver a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated Science curriculum to students.
  • Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor.
  • Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which enables students to achieve their individual potential.
  • Contribute to raising standards of student attainment and share the academy's commitment to providing opportunities for personal and academic growth.
  • Engage in operational and strategic planning, including lesson planning, resource development, and contributing to the departmental plan.
  • Participate in staff development activities, embracing opportunities for professional growth.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Experience in teaching at secondary level, ideally including in multi-ethnic urban schools and within an 11-18 setting.
  • Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and develop positive relationships with all staff.
  • Proficient ICT skills, including the use of interactive whiteboards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
