Day to Day of the Role:
- Deliver a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated Science curriculum to students.
- Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor.
- Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which enables students to achieve their individual potential.
- Contribute to raising standards of student attainment and share the academy's commitment to providing opportunities for personal and academic growth.
- Engage in operational and strategic planning, including lesson planning, resource development, and contributing to the departmental plan.
- Participate in staff development activities, embracing opportunities for professional growth.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- Experience in teaching at secondary level, ideally including in multi-ethnic urban schools and within an 11-18 setting.
- Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4.
- Ability to work as part of a team and develop positive relationships with all staff.
- Proficient ICT skills, including the use of interactive whiteboards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
