Events Coordinator, London University, 12 week temp role, £16.83 p/h, plus holiday pay. 35 hours per week.

Our client, a leading London University, is recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed Events Coordinator to join their London based team. This is a 12 week 'hands on' temp role to support and coordinate the delivery of commercial event hires i.e. conferences, meetings, exams, performances etc. and is to start asap.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake Duty Management of events as part of a rota
  • Receive enquiries via email, phone and in person
  • Plan, co-ordinate and deliver events across both campuses
  • Ensure correct event management paperwork is completed in a thorough and timely manner
  • Deal with purchase orders, invoices and other financial paperwork as required
  • Supervise and direct teams of casual events and hospitality staff
  • Coordinate services and activities required to set up events
  • Liaise with third party suppliers inc. Audio Visual & catering
  • Financial management of events, including requesting purchase orders and balancing event costs
  • Event reporting
  • Liaise with & coordinate other Estates teams including porters, cleaning, security, IT and front of house
  • Support the department in all areas of its operation
  • Work flexibly across a seven day operation when required (time in lieu for any additional hours worked)

Key experience required:

  • Working in an events based environment, handling logistics
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Experience of commercial event sales
  • Delivering conferences and other commercial event hire
  • Managing client relationships and delivering excellent customer service
  • Working in a hospitality or event environment
  • Duty management experience
  • Working with students or similar groups
  • Supervising a team of casual staff
  • Stock ordering and management
  • IOSH trained/experience (desirable)
  • Event Management qualification or relevant degree, or equivalent experience
