Nigel Wright Recruitment is working in partnership with a prestigious Legal firm who due to expansion are looking for a Paralegal candidate to join one of their established teams.

Paralegal Permanent - Full Time Office based Leeds City Centre £27,000

The role...

Working with the Partners and other Fee Earners within the team on a delivery of Private and Social Housing development. Some of the key responsibilities of this position will include managing your own caseload under the supervision of partners whilst assisting the wider team with larger transactions. You will be responsible for:

  • Working on site acquisitions, developments and disposals for private and social housing developers.
  • Requisitioning searches, monitoring results and reporting.
  • Obtaining title information, drafting documentation, reports and contracts
  • Liaising with various teams in relation to the preparation of plans and mapping issues.
  • Responding to client and third-party queries, chasing responses where needed.
  • Preparing engrossments of legal documents for execution
  • Also preparing matters for exchange and completion, requesting funds in accordance with respective procedures.
  • Dealing with all post completion formalities, including Land Registry applications.
  • Assisting the team in management of matters including updating the case management systems.
  • Maintaining client and matter records in line with client procedures.
  • Collating the various Update Reports as requested by clients
  • Contribution to business development activities to grow client base

What we are looking for...

This role requires an organised individual with strong attention to detail and ideally previous experience of acting for private or social housing developments. Some of the key attributes required include:

  • Adept working to challenging timescales with the ability to plan and organise effectively
  • Exhibit excellent all-round communication skills when liaising with a wide variety of people.
  • Skilled in building a rapport and relationships with clients and organisation
  • Proactive approach, enthusiastic and committed
  • Effective diary / administration management
  • Demonstrate good prioritisation skills and be able to work with urgency to move matters forward
  • Ability to work within and as part of multi-discipline teams.
