Business Development Manager

Niche tour operator who specialise in creating and delivering unforgettable mountain experiences for groups and individuals are looking for a Sales Manager/Business Development Manager to manage their small sales team and help drive business growth. If you have strong leadership skills, experience in sales and business development and a love of travel and the outdoors this is an exciting opportunity to be part of this expanding company. They offer a competitive salary up to 40k plus commission, hybrid working in their office in North Devon (can be flexible for the right candidate) and opportunity to travel to the Alps.

THE JOB:

  • Supervise and support the sales team, which currently includes one other member, ensuring targets are met and exceeded.
  • Handle customer enquiries promptly and professionally, providing detailed information and converting leads into sales.
  • Develop and implement innovative business-to-consumer sales strategies to increase market share and revenue.
  • Identify and pursue business-to-business opportunities, establishing relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and other relevant partners.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with local operators, accommodation providers, and other relevant businesses to enhance our service offerings and expand our market reach.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: You'll need both of these as we charter new waters and try new initiatives.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strategic mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities and develop effective sales strategies.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Proven experience in sales and business development, preferably in the travel or adventure tourism industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a small team.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Experience in creating and nurturing business partnerships.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with the Central and Western Alps region is a plus.

THE PACKAGE:
