About the Role

Base Location: Perth or Glasgow

Salary: £47,600 - £71,600 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Contract Manager to join SSE Thermal and be at the forefront of delivering procurement strategies and commercial solutions for vital energy projects across the UK and Ireland. The main duties of the role include:

  • Developing and executing procurement strategies, ensuring value for money and project success.
  • Compiling, negotiating, and awarding Call Off contracts. Managing supplier relationships and working closely with stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Providing commercial support throughout the contract lifecycle, from estimating and sourcing to contract administration and dispute resolution.
  • Leading and participating in sourcing events, covering all commercial, business, and legal risks.
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal policies and driving improvements in procurement and commercial processes.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent direct entry to recognised appropriate professional body is preferred, in addition to a solid understanding of contract structures, procurement strategy, and financial management.
  • Experience in drafting and managing commercial contracts, ideally in engineering or construction. Working knowledge of the relevant conditions of contract e.g. NEC, FIDIC, LOGIC, IChemE.
  • Strong numeracy skills with experience interpreting and analysing financial data.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and produce high quality communications.
  • An understanding of the supply chain and the confidence to challenge, influence, and drive positive change.
