The successful teacher of Spanish will have:

  • A good degree in an appropriate discipline related to Spanish
  • A teaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A strong and secure subject knowledge in Spanish
  • A strong and secure subject knowledge in French up to KS3
  • Recent and relevant teaching experience
  • Experience of assessment at key stage 3 and 4
  • Awareness of the strategies available for improving the learning and achievement of all students
  • A good understanding of curriculum developments in Spanish and French
  • The ability to use a range of teaching and learning strategies
