Salary: £24,000 – £27,000 (dependent on editorial experience)

Reed in Colchester are delighted to be supporting our client seeking an Editorial Coordinator to manage operational aspects of their journals and book series. This role involves overseeing the editorial and peer review process, administration, governance, marketing, and impact. The ideal candidate will be a central figure in ensuring the success and smooth running of the companies' publications.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with editorial teams, publishers, staff members, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to the clients and the publisher's policies and processes, addressing any issues promptly
  • Act as the primary liaison between editors, publishers, keeping all parties informed and supported
  • Coordinate the peer review process, ensuring efficient handling of manuscripts and adherence to best practices
  • Regularly review and improve editorial processes and workflows
  • Monitor editorial team terms, coordinate reviews, and manage the selection and induction of new editors
  • Provide regular reporting on manuscript status and trends to editorial teams
  • Assist in the production of annual reports and contribute to companies Executive Committee and Publications Subcommittee meetings
  • Coordinate and support the organisation of editorial meetings, reporting meetings, and Publications Retreats
  • Implement marketing activities for journals and book series, developing content for campaigns, and managing social media accounts
  • Collaborate with Loop for Blog content development and coordinate publications' presence.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in editorial coordination or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of the editorial and peer review process.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency in using marketing tools and social media for promotion.
  • Experience in report writing and data analysis.
  • Willingness to travel and represent ECPR at events and meetings.

  • Holiday entitlement is 25 days per year, rising to 27 days after five years
