Hays Senior Finance is working with an established and successful business located in Flintshire. The business operates globally and has proven to be an industry leader for decades - they have invested heavily in their various sites and continue to invest in R&D. Due to ongoing growth and internal promotions they are looking to recruit a Commercial Accountant.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Commercial Accountant will monitor pricing throughout the division whilst continuously suggesting improvements where applicable. The role holder will lead commercial reporting, developing customer profitability reporting at each stage of the pricing cycle amongst other reports and KPI's.
Key duties -
Commercial Reporting
- Review the commercial reporting suite in place, analysing its suitability to achieve transparency and lead business decisions.
- Continuously look to improve commercial reporting throughout the division, looking to implement full customer profitability reporting.
- Develop reporting links between product costings and pricing matrix to allow full transparency of product margins.
- Review and Implement margin reporting at quotation stage
- Maintenance and development of a commercial dashboard through Power BI
- Review and develop pricing KPI's for the division, and monitor their progression.
Pricing Audits
- Conduct review cycles of pricing procedures for multiple sites, monitoring against Group pricing policy.
- Discuss and work together with other functional areas within the business, understanding and reviewing each stage of the pricing process.
- Review pricing cycles for any risks to the business ensuring there are proposed mitigations which are actively progressed and implemented.
- Ensure margin monitoring is in place at each stage of the pricing cycle and any deviations are reviewed and investigated.
Candidate Profile
- Degree educated and ideally fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) or close to becoming qualified.
- Strong reporting systems knowledge - SAP, Power BI, Tableau or equivalent.
- Strong people skills with the ability to lead others.
- Enthusiastic with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Comfortable with handling/manipulating large data.
