THE BUSINESS:

Zero Global are excited to announce we are working closely with one of the world's leading Fusion Engineering companies. They have received large funding and are looking to double the size of their UK team in the next 12 months from 15 to 30. They have a team of 145 globally and are scaling quickly. Career progression and travel opportunities are huge with this world class Fusion Energy business.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, potential clients, and emerging opportunities within the nuclear fusion industry.
  • Analyse competitors and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making and business development initiatives under the guidance of senior business team members.
  • Identify and establish potential partnerships with diverse stakeholders to develop business opportunities and increase market presence.
  • Cultivate relationships with clients and potential partners to maximize both retention and expansion opportunities while nurturing strategic alliances for growth.
  • Lead the creation of compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches tailored to the needs and objectives of potential clients and partners.
  • Collaborate with internal technology teams to develop innovative solutions and value propositions that differentiate our offerings in the marketplace.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes for both the company and its clients.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on business development activities, market trends, and competitive insights.

YOUR KEY SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in business administration, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within the engineering or technology sector, preferably in nuclear fusion or a related industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development in a high-tech or engineering environment, including face-to-face client interactions. Experience in an SME or fast-growing business is desirable.
  • Experience in writing bids for consultancy projects, including public sector procurement tenders and grant funding opportunities in the UK. Experience in contributing to bids for engineering projects is also desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and innovative thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Flexibility for domestic and international travel to support project requirements.
  • Experience working in cross-departmental and cross-cultural teams is desirable.
