Harmonic is thrilled to partner exclusively with one of the UK's fastest-growing beverage scale-ups in their search for a fractional Finance Director to join the team. Established over six years ago, our client is dedicated to delivering eco-friendly and ethically sourced drinks to the masses. With a focus on growth and innovation and high quality products our client has quickly scaled up to £5m turnover which will be bolstered by an upcoming M&A.

The Client:

As the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in our finance team, contributing to the success of their operations through your expertise in accounting and financial management. Our client boasts ambition and a friendly, collaborative culture. Operating across seven countries, with a proficient sales team expanding revenue streams (wholesale/manufacturing/multisite operations etc), they have experienced 20% year-on-year growth over the past two years. With plans to open their first flagship store in central London, our client aims to continue scaling up and seeks a part-time Finance Director to support this growth, reporting into the company Founder.

This part-time position (two days per week with scope to increase) offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact while enjoying schedule flexibility. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional with a keen interest in agricultural value chains, project development and trading. On top of that, this well-rounded role involves elements of both management and financial accounting, ultimately helping improve efficiencies across our finance and business processes.

Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership:

  • Oversee all cash management, investments, budgeting, and financial reporting, driving the company's financial strategy.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of international financial regulations, our client operates an multi-entity business which is currently made up of 9 entities.

Business and Finance Systems:

  • Oversee the organization's business systems, including financial software, reporting tools, and other technology platforms.
  • Ensure the efficiency, reliability, and security of business systems, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing accounting team (outsourced), fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Improve and manage regular reporting cycles, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Implement effective cash management strategies to support ongoing operations and growth initiatives.

Raising Capital and Fuelling Growth:

  • Develop financial models and projections to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Engage with investors and financial institutions to secure funding for the company's growth through debt/equity.
  • Identify and evaluate attractive M&A opportunities for accelerated growth.

What Our Client Would Like to See (Essential):

  • Qualified Accountant ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CA, ICAS or equivalent

What We Would Like to See (Non-Essential):

  • Experience in SME or fast-growth companies (FMCG, retail, hospitality, or manufacturing)
  • Track record of implementing best practices or enhancing systems/processes
  • Strong technical proficiency in technical skills

Salary: £110,000 - £130,000 (Pro Rata) + discretionary bonus

WFH: Remote working welcome with occasional travel into London HQ (Warren Street)
