Finance Business Partner

Our client require a Finance Business Partner on an interim basis o provide direct support to the Head of Finance Business Partnering. The successful candidate must provide high quality analysis of financial and non-financial data and provide significant challenge to the budgeting and forecasting information.

Description

Support the Director of Finance, Compliance and Estates and Chief Financial Officer in their roles as a member of the Board and the Executive Team.

Gain an in-depth, detailed knowledge of relevant business areas through discussions with staff at all levels and through interpretation and analysis of relevant financial and non financial information.

Work closely with the other Finance Business Partners and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for analysis and modelling of financial and non financial information to determine trends, correlations, sensitivity analysis and other statistical information which impact business decisions.

Work alongside Directors, Deputy Directors, Programme Managers and their teams, at all levels, on corporate plans, medium term financial planning, Government Spending Reviews, annual budgeting and monthly forecasting. To provide sufficient challenge to management to ensure data is realistic and achievable, and that data is provided according to prescribed timescales.

Support the Director of Finance, Compliance and Estates, Chief Financial Officer and Head of Finance Business Partnering in the delivery of departmental budgeting processes, including Spending Reviews.

Identify emerging financial pressures, risks and opportunities for savings, ensuring mitigation planning and appropriate reporting to management boards. Member of directorate management boards and CEO quarterly meetings.

Work closely with Financial Accounts Team, the Technical Accountant and the other Finance Business Partners to ensure the organisation meets its annual reporting obligations and use own professional knowledge to ensure accounting standards are adhered to when business decisions have financial implication.

Work collaboratively with stakeholders on financial elements of business cases for spend approvals.

Provide finance training and guidance to all levels of staff as and when required.

Keep abreast of accounting developments to ensure continuous professional development is ongoing and up to date.

Profile

Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA.

Experience in a Finance Business Partner role or Finance role with transferable skills.

Current knowledge and practical application of financial management techniques and financial reporting requirements as included in Treasury's Managing Public Money, the Government Financial Reporting Manual (FReM) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Experience of staff management and building working relationships with colleagues at a senior level, both internal and external.

Report writing and interpretation of financial data.

Advanced knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel.
