A well-known Trust in the Croydon area is seeking a Highly Experienced Executive Assistant to serve as the principal governance expert within the organisation. This role is pivotal in managing the Trust's policy framework, overseeing key systems, and driving strategic initiatives that contribute to the Trust's growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the principal governance expert within the organisation.
  • Manage the Trust's policy framework, ensuring policies are current and comprehensive.
  • Lead the strategic development and maintenance of the organisation's Google Drive for optimal efficiency.
  • Supervise the content and functionality of the organisation's landing pages.
  • Oversee the administration of key systems, including SAMpeople, Every, and Arbor.
  • Direct the operational activities of school administrative personnel.
  • Drive marketing initiatives that are directly tied to student enrolment numbers.
  • Manage internal and external communications, including being the primary contact for the organisation's website and external communications.

Duties:

  • Act as the primary governance officer for the Trust, offering both strategic and operational support at the Trust and individual school levels.
  • Provide guidance to the Board of Trustees on governance matters, ensuring that corporate affairs are conducted with the utmost integrity and in compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Chair and executive team to ensure the Board of Trustees is effectively structured, active, and well-supported.
  • Stay informed about the latest educational trends and legislative changes that impact academy governance.
  • Develop and update policies, preparing them for Board of Trustees' review, which includes managing the Trust's entire policy portfolio.
  • Identify and address the training requirements of administrative staff, organising appropriate professional development opportunities.
  • Hold regular meetings with administrative staff to communicate updates on systems and processes and arrange for necessary professional development.
  • Organise and enhance the Google Drive's structure to improve team productivity, collaboration, and data protection.
  • Collaborate with the Director of People and Communication to lead marketing strategies, including competitions and funding opportunities, while upholding the Trust's reputation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in governance within the education sector.
  • Strong understanding of policy development and management.
  • Proficiency in using Google Drive and overseeing website content.
  • Experience with system administration tools such as SAMpeople, Every, and Arbor.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of administrative professionals.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to drive marketing and communication initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
