We are recruiting a Financial Controller for an independent accountancy practice who looks after agencies in the marketing and communications area. This young and dynamic practice is growing and therefore looking for a new Financial Controller. The role will report to the MD.

Role of the Financial Controller

  • All aspects of the finance function up to and including producing Management Accounts and Reports
  • Cash Flow forecasting
  • Budgets
  • Reporting for and liaising with Directors of client companies
  • Managing the Accounts receivable/payable function including managing a Management Accounts and/or Accounts Assistant
  • VAT calculations and filing
  • Preparing year end data for external accountants
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required
  • Working with client companies to increase commercial awareness

The skills and experience required of a Financial Controller:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or nearly qualified
  • Experience of producing full management accounts
  • Experience of working in a small company
  • 5 years+ experience in a finance function
  • Good experience in Marketing Communications Industry
  • Be able to demonstrate an ability to work with directors/owners and managers
  • Paprika software experience would be ideal
  • Good communication skills, especially with non-financial staff
