Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor

Our client based in North London are currently recruiting for a Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join their Asset Management team as soon as possible.

This is a full time, temporary position offering hybrid work and a day rate of £350 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.

The purpose of the role is to act as a Project Manager for planned maintenance and improvement projects as assigned, providing a professional and efficient service, ensuring that works are carried out within the agreed constraints of time, budget, quality and performance and in compliance with statutory legislation, building regulations, health and safety policies and financial regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the Housing Asset Management Team, contribute towards achievement of the services aims and objectives as contained in the Housing Ambition Plan.
  • To act as lead professional in all aspects of inspections, design and building contract procurement of works commissioned for the section and to provide expert professional and technical advice in all matters relating to the building stock in a customer focussed manner.
  • Managing the budgets of and delivering the Decent Homes improvement and other major repairs/improvement programmes
  • On occasions delivering minor works alongside major works projects
  • Maintaining an up to date information system on stock condition
  • Surveying and inspecting properties
  • Development of Strategies and Policies relating to Asset Management
  • Working in partnership with contractors and other stakeholders
  • Working with our residents to improve the services that we provide

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the issues involved in providing technical client advice for planned and responsive maintenance
  • Knowledge of building legislation, health and safety regulations
  • Knowledge of managing repairs contracts
  • Knowledge of good practice in commissioning and procurement and vale for money in matters relating to the delivery of the capital programme.
  • Knowledge of current housing issues at national, regional and local level particularly those relating to housing investment
  • Degree in building surveying/Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification with membership of an appropriate professional institution desirable.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Relevant qualification/training in project management
