We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst & Report Writer to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis. In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £26,432 - £28,210 per annum depending on experience.

About the role:

As the Data Analyst & Report Writer you will support the college's data reporting needs by developing reports, maintaining databases, and working closely with the system developers and Digital Education team to meet the colleges reporting and data objectives. This role involves writing SQL queries, developing Power BI reports, and providing technical assistance to the team.

Responsibilities as our Data Analyst & Report Writer will include:

  • Develop, test, and maintain SQL queries for data extraction and reporting purposes.
  • Create and manage reports using SQL and Power BI to support various college departments.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the data management system is optimised.
  • Assist the team in troubleshooting and maintaining reports, and databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Support with data analysis requests and ad hoc report creation for internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain documentation for data processes and reports.
  • Identify improvements in the reporting systems and implement solutions.
  • Provide user training and support for Power BI and SQL reports.
  • Communicate and assist users in their understanding of all reports developed and published by the team.
  • Assist the IT team with updates to the student records system.
  • Provide information in a variety of visual formats including statistical reports, graphs and diagrams for use by internal and external clients ensuring the information presented is clear and unambiguous.
  • Work closely with the line management and the other members of the development team to ensure project and regular cycle deadlines are met.

As our Data Analyst & Report Writer, you'll ideally have:

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths
  • Level 3 IT qualification or relevant experience
  • A good understanding of the SQL language with an ability to write SQL statements with clear and easily readable code
  • Experience working with SQL and report writing in an education or corporate environment
  • Proficiency in SQL and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (MSMS)
  • Knowledge of Power BI or similar business intelligence tools
