Role: Teaching Assistant, post 16.
Contract/permanent: Permanent role, term time only (40 working weeks per year)
Work hours: Full time 37 hours per week Mon-Fri 9-5

Location: Rotherham, Dearne Valley and Worksop
The role
We are looking to appoint permanent Teaching Assistant's to work with our college group consisting of several Colleges within the Rotherham, Worksop and Dearne Valley area. The role itself would be working on a 1:1 basis and in group settings, specifically within a College environment and students aged 16+. You will be working alongside Health and Social care students who are studying for their Teaching Assistant qualifications.
The students will study at our various College sites in the area depending on their class/rota scenario, so this role would involve working across several of our different campuses. For this reason, we are requesting that all applicants are drivers, with access to their own vehicle due to the nature of the role and the potential travel involved.
We welcome applicants that have worked within the education sector in Teaching Assistant positions in other areas such as with Secondary schools, Independent and specialist SEND schools, that may have never worked within a College setting but are looking to explore the options further and try something new.
Requirements for role:
- Minimum level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or a minimum of 5 years recent Teaching Assistant experience in Secondary settings and upwards.
- Minimum level 2 in Maths (Grade C GCSE) and above.
- Being a driver with access to your own vehicle is paramount and essential for this role.
- Experience working in a support role for students aged 16+ would be an advantage, but not essential.
- Good general people skills, friendly and approachable, with a genuine enjoyment and passion in helping our students navigate their course.
