My client, an Investment Management firm based in City of London, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join their company. The successful candidate will have a strong background in payroll management within the investment management industry. This is a standalone role responsible for handling payroll for the firm's employees, as well as the payroll and expenses for the fund team.

This is a permanent and full-time role with a salary of £65,000 - £75,000.

Position Overview:

My client, an Investment Management firm based in City of London, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join their company. The successful candidate will have a strong background in payroll management within the investment management industry. This is a standalone role responsible for handling payroll for the firm's employees, as well as the payroll and expenses for the fund team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Payroll Management:
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process for the investment management firm's employees.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including salary adjustments, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation components.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including salary changes, deductions, and tax information.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant payroll laws and regulations.
  1. Fund Team Payroll and Expenses:
  • Handle the payroll and expenses for the fund team, which consists of varying compensation structures such as carried interest and profit sharing.
  • Collaborate with fund team members to accurately calculate and process their compensation, ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures.
  • Manage fund team expense reimbursements, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with expense policies.
  1. Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare payroll reports, including tax filings, payroll registers, and other required documentation.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Analyze payroll data and provide insights to management regarding payroll expenses, trends, and potential cost-saving measures.
  1. Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:
  • Stay up-to-date with payroll laws, regulations, and best practices within the investment management industry.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations related to payroll.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during payroll audits.
  1. Process Improvement and Automation:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate payroll processes, improving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement payroll system enhancements and upgrades.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, preferably within an investment management firm.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficient in using payroll software and systems.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
