More about the role:

The prime purpose of this role is to manage the dat-to-day accounting functions associated with the racing contract at Jockey Club Catering. This role will also include some project work to support the wider London Region race courses.

  • Managing the appropriate financial controls, procedures and processes
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements including management Profit & Loss Statements and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of annual budget, flash forecast, weekly trading report and trading updates
  • Produce ad hoc reports as requested by senior management
  • Produce complete, accurate and timely management accounts. Correct errors and omissions, and reconcile all key balance sheet control accounts for the contract
  • Purchase orders, delivery notes and supplier invoices are matched correctly, properly approved for payment prior to processing via Foodbuy at site. In instances where invoices are not received, these must be followed up with the supplier
  • Reconcile all payroll forecasts with actual payroll costs and review with the GM any variances

About you:

  • AAT Qualified, Part or studying CIMA/ACCA
  • Proven experience in an accounting/finance role, preferably within hospitality
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to travel and work on location as needed
