We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school community in Charlton. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a young student with Autism, providing 1:1 support to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to a child with Autism in a classroom setting.
  • Assist in the implementation of the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the child with daily classroom activities and social interactions.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure the child's needs are met.
  • Monitor and record the child's progress and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.
  • Promote the child's independence and confidence in a school setting.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with Autism or other Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to supporting children with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (desirable but not essential).
