HR Operations Support Officer ***

We are working in partnership with Tower Hamlets Local Authority who are looking for an Operations Support Officer.

The HR Operations Team plays a crucial role in ensuring all administrative work relating to the employee life cycle within the Council is carried out in a timely and efficient manner, often responding to urgent and ad hoc requests, thus supporting the delivery of Council and Departmental priorities.

The Operations Support Officer role will oversee the day-to-day functioning of the Business Support Officers in the team to ensure the team works as a cohesive unit and delivers to a high professional standard.

Agency contract: 3 - 6 months with a view to be extended.

Working Hours: 35 hours per week; 2 days in the office one week and 3 days in the office the next. (Alternating pattern) Need flexibility around which days they can be in.

Interviews: Manager is looking to interview Tuesday 20th / Wednesday 21st August.

Rate of Pay: £153+ per day. (Negotiable)

The Work Includes:

  • Management of the central mailbox for the team.
  • Rota management and Annual leave calendar management ensuring consistent presence and delivery of tasks.
  • Responding to first level escalations.
  • Interrogating the Workload reports filed by the BSOs to ascertain workload and ensure even distribution of work.
  • Provide transactional support to the team when required especially when responding to urgent and ad hoc requests from service managers and HR colleagues and when dealing with more sensitive requests like Subject Access Requests, References, Long Service Awards etc. to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Assist on specific projects involving the team e.g. Post Deletion and Establishment cleansing.
  • Maintain the strictest confidentiality in respect of employees' documentation, in accordance with service standards and GDPR requirements.
  • Undertake any other administrative responsibilities in keeping with the grade and overall work of the team.

Experience Needed:

  • Proficient in managing, sorting, and filtering large datasets related to employee records.
  • Experience of working with HR Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Extremely proficient with MS 365 suite particularly.
