External Sales Representative
- Location: Yorkshire, UK (flexible depending on experience)
- Job Type: Full-time
- Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per year, depending on experience
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage and develop existing customer relationships and identify new prospects across various market sectors.
- Build and maintain a database of prospects, following up on new leads and enquiries.
- Maximise sales profitability by understanding market opportunities and competition.
- Establish customer needs and recommend solutions to promote business growth.
- Maintain high levels of communication with clients through phone, video calls, and customer visits.
- Develop and meet annual sales plans and budgets.
- Understand competitor capabilities to achieve the best sales outcomes.
- Handle enquiries and provide quotes via email, phone, etc.
- Travel to meet customers in the UK and abroad as required.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure successful business operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the metals sector.
- Proven track record of building accounts and delivering results.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and results-driven.
- Ability to work flexibly within a team and assist in various business areas.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with SAGE is preferred.
