Be part of a dynamic team at our busy Parcelforce distribution center. With various shifts available, you'll find a schedule that works for you, but please note, full availability during the holiday season is essential as we have a lot to accomplish.
As a Parcel Sorter, your responsibilities will include:
- Loading and Unloading: Carefully handle and move large parcels from vehicles.
- Machine Operation: Work as part of a team to operate the parcel sort machine, contributing to efficient processing.
- Task Flexibility: Switch between tasks as needed to support the distribution process.
- Physical Tasks: Lift and carry items up to 30kg (about 32 bags of sugar).
- Endurance: Stand for extended periods throughout your shift.
What We're Looking For:
- Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Physical capability to handle heavy items.
- Previous experience in warehouse or sorting roles is a plus (particularly with companies like Amazon, DPD, DHL, or XPO).
- Excellent organizational skills.
- A positive, self-motivated attitude.
- A strong team player.
Pay Rates:
- £14.09 Day Shift.
- £15.70 Afternoon.
- £16.28 Night Shift.
Shift Patterns:
- Day Shift: 07:30 to 17:00
- Late Shift: 12:00 to 20:00
- Night Shift: Start times will vary from 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00 & 21:30 , finish times will vary depending on the operation latest is 04:00.
Prior to starting you will be required to attend a 6 hour long induction. The first hour will be the unpaid assessment, if you successfully pass this, you will move onto 2 hours classroom-based induction with a further test at the end. You will then required to go out & work on the floor for 3 hours, buddied up with someone.
