Senior Technician

This role has a starting salary of £35,730 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.

We are seeking a Senior Technician to be part of our exceptional IT&D User Experience team, located in Reigate. Our team is dedicated to promptly addressing IT concerns for all our clients.

Given the flexibility for our customers to work from home, office, or other adaptable locations, our team prioritises ensuring that staff are equipped with the appropriate IT resources. We are committed to swiftly resolving any issues to improve their daily work efficiency. The role offers the opportunity to travel across Surrey, delivering software and hardware support in various settings.

This is a 12-month fixed term/secondment opportunity.

About the Role

As a Senior Technician, you will provide support to IT customers in order to ensure the timely and effective resolution of incidents and tasks concerning IT equipment, software and services thereby maintaining productivity within the organisation. You will achieve permanent resolutions to problems identified and work proactively to ensure that future incidents are prevented where possible.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Technician includes:

  • Managing your workload and keeping customers informed about the status of their Service Requests
  • Communicating with customers in person, via email, chat, or phone
  • Collaborating with colleagues to meet the team's goals and objectives
  • Promptly providing laptops to new staff members on their first day
  • Planning ahead and preparing for incoming Service Requests to ensure a positive onboarding experience for all new employees

The team operates from our Reigate office five days a week. You will be required to be on call outside of regular hours for one week, four times per year.

Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for an interview, your application must clearly demonstrate:

  • A minimum of three years' experience in a comparable role
  • strong software and hardware skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team
  • Experience documenting Service Requests with comprehensive notes visible to both customers and colleagues
  • Knowledge of ITIL principles

The role holder will need to have the willingness and ability to travel around the county to meet the demands of the role.
