Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher

We are seeking an innovative and motivated MFL Teacher to join our successful team at a dynamic secondary school to lead in the subject area. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching French, German, and/or Spanish across a range of abilities and age groups, and committed to providing high-quality leadership within the MFL faculty.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Teach German and French and/or Spanish across different age groups and abilities.
  • Lead the MFL faculty to achieve high-quality outcomes for students.
  • Support and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning within the faculty.
  • Engage in effective CPD to support the development of all teachers within the faculty.
  • Collaborate with other Heads of Faculty to shape the quality of curricular intent, implementation, and impact.
  • Maintain and develop high-quality MFL provision within and outside the curriculum, with a special emphasis on communication, target language, and culture.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in French, German, and/or Spanish.
  • Experience in providing high-quality leadership in an educational setting.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and improving student progress.
  • Enthusiasm for collaboration and a commitment to the school's ethos and values.
  • Ability to teach across all four language skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing.
  • A passion for MFL and a desire to inspire this in students.
