Prospero Teaching is currently collaborating with several mainstream schools in London and is actively seeking graduates who possess a passion for education, an interest in mental health and special needs as well as learning needs, encompassing both academic and social aspects.

Start dates are flexible, with positions available as soon as possible or for September 2024.

Roles are diverse, involving a dynamic learning process where you'll work closely with 5-6 students with a variety of needs, including Autism, Dyslexia, Speech and Language Needs, Behavioral Needs, ADHD, Selective Mutism, and more, within a mainstream setting.

We're seeking responsible, positive role models who are eager to learn, grow, and develop pedagogical skills while building strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.

As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working within the Learning Support/SEND Department of a secondary school
  • Supporting both the class teacher and students during lessons
  • Building rapport with 5-6 students with specific needs and implementing tailored strategies to support, nurture, engage, and raise attainment during their secondary education
  • Conducting 1:1 sessions in your subject specialty
  • Running intervention groups in your subject area to enhance students' understanding and knowledge

You'll receive ample support from the school's SEN Department, including the SENCO, HLTAs, Pastoral Staff, Class Teachers, and parents. The school will provide you with specific information about each child in advance to ensure effective support. Additionally, you'll receive resources, strategies, behaviour management training, and group/1:1 training from qualified, experienced staff.

Hours and pay:

  • Full-time hours, which may vary depending on the school
  • Monday to Friday schedule
  • Full-time or part-time
  • Weekly pay at a competitive daily rate, with the potential for a permanent post in the future
  • This role can lead to a salaried teacher training position, offering valuable experience and opportunities for career advancement.
