Employment Relations Advisor

  • Salary: From £32,000 - £36,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Location: Hybrid remote in Bedford
  • Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

We are excited to offer an opportunity for an Employment Relations Advisor to join a dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with their in-house legal team and specialist advisors, providing high-quality service delivery and comprehensive support on any employment related matters.

Day to day of the role:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of employment matters, offering expert guidance and assistance.
  • Provide comprehensive employment law advice and HR support via telephone and written correspondence.
  • Prepare for and represent members in meetings, safeguarding their interests.
  • Review employment queries and provide guidance on contractual issues, pay matters, policies, and procedures.
  • Handle grievance, capability, and conduct proceedings, including the preparation of statements and disclosure bundles.
  • Actively contribute to weekly Case Conferences, promoting collaborative problem-solving within the advisory team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualifications or equivalent experience in employee relations, HR, CIPD, or related field.
  • Demonstrable experience in advising on HR/employment issues and representing individuals effectively.
  • Prior experience in advising and representing healthcare professionals within the NHS.
  • Familiarity with NHS contracts and processes, including AfC, GP contracts, and NHS Commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices and up-to-date knowledge of employment law.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage complex cases efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and strong IT skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and independently with self-motivation.
