Finance Assistant

NOTE: This is a 7-month fixed-term contract.

This Finance Assistant role will provide a breadth of exposure and the opportunity to gain lots of experience in a fast-paced and exciting company that is restructuring and strengthening its finance team.

You will support the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring we are following processes, retaining records for audit, and have comprehensive reconciliations for balance sheets & other accounts.

This role offers exposure to departmental and wider business projects and clear personal development within the Finance Team.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Supporting the management accountants to provide Monthly Reporting. Packs, including Consolidated Group Account and Banking Pack Reports.
  • Supporting with the accurate and timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts for the UK company and international subsidiaries, including Intercompany reconciliations across all entities.
  • Reporting and analysis as required by management accountant with support and development.
  • Ensuring that we are always up to date and in line with accounting standards and compliance requirements across the processes, as set by the senior members of the team.
  • Aligning with business improvement and efficiency initiatives, as appropriate.
  • Liaising with other finance teams and the wider business to achieve objectives.
  • Ensuring financial controls are consistently applied to the role.
  • Managing and supporting audit queries alongside the Finance Manager and Group FC.
  • Any other duties that may be reasonably required by the team.

Essential Skills

  • GCSE Mathematics and English required - A Level Mathematics an advantage
  • Part-Qualified AAT/CIMA/ACCA an advantage
  • Excel Intermediate as a minimum - Dynamics 365 an advantage
  • 2+ years of experience gained in a similar environment
  • Proven experience in working in a successful team
