Director - Financial Services Internal Audit & Advisory

A Director in the Professional Services industry is sought, who will add substantial value to the Financial Services Advisory team. This role requires a seasoned professional who can lead teams, manage client relationships, and drive business growth.

Our client is a top-tier firm in the Professional Services industry, boasting a workforce of over 6000 dedicated employees.

Description

  • Lead and mentor teams within the Internal Audit & Advisory department.
  • Forge and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Drive business development and revenue growth.
  • Lead advisory and internal audit reviews to agreed timeframes, planning and managing the work and the team and helping to identify and shape value-add recommendations to Senior Management.

Profile

A successful Director should have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A recognised accountancy or internal audit professional qualifications and/or memberships (i.e. ICAEW, CIMA, CIIA, ACCA etc.) is preferred but not essential.
  • Significant experience of regulatory assurance or internal audit experience working within a professional services (e.g. Big 4) or financial services firm(s)
  • A robust understanding of the regulatory environment and good practice in financial services including knowledge and experience of at least three of the following: FCA conduct rules and regulations, enterprise risk management frameworks and operating models, corporate governance / board effectiveness, credit risk, SMCR, operational resilience, consumer duty requirements, culture.
  • Strong written / communication skills, ability to influence, lead, engage, and manage stakeholders including in challenging situations
  • Ability to lead complex reviews, anticipating and proactively managing the delivery against the agreed plan
  • Significant and credible experience and expertise in undertaking advisory and assurance reviews in governance / risk management / conduct risk
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present information in reports and face to face in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong project management skills and a track record of successful delivery
  • Experience in leading and developing high performance teams
