Supported Housing Officer

Sellick Partnership are currently assisting in the recruitment of a Supported Housing Officer to join a housing group organisation in the Manchester area.

The role is to act as a Supported Housing Officer responsible for promoting and maximising independence for vulnerable people

Duties of the Supported Housing Officer:

  • To be responsible for all aspects of tenancy management , including voids, repairs, maintenance, allocations, lettings process, customer inductions, rents, aids and adaptions, ASB and challenging behaviour and breaches of occupancy agreements;
  • To be responsible for general building management and security
  • Ensuring the successful running of the building and to be a contact for building and property enquiries.
  • Ensuring all properties and communal areas are in a good state of repair, that repairs are carried out in a timely manner
  • To be responsible for the security of the building, ensuring access for contractors as necessary and taking responsibility for the security of keys to the premises and to control the use of the master key, in line with current procedures
  • To support the welfare of customers, providing welfare checks in line with the service offer, responding to alarm calls and emergencies when on site

Requirements of Supported Housing Officer:

  • Able to travel to multiple locations
  • Driving licence and access to transport

Experience and skills:

  • Experience of basic housing processes, welfare benefits and funding knowledge
  • Experience of working with older people or in a housing setting/tenancy and estates management role is desirable
  • Have relevant and up to date knowledge around housing and tenancy legislation and procedures which can be acted upon to make informed decisions
  • Demonstrate an understanding of independent living services
