Finance Manager

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Manager to play a crucial role in our business's current position, ensuring manageable expansion and enhanced financial understanding across the organisation. This role is integral to maintaining and improving our current level of book-keeping and financial awareness, requiring a high level of accuracy, organisation, and commitment.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Control the full finance function independently, encompassing all aspects of accounting.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations using Sage One accounting software.
- Conduct new supplier and purchaser checks, determining credit allowances.
- Manage Accounts Payable, including monitoring cash flow and conducting weekly meetings with Directors regarding outgoings.
- Execute weekly contractor and supplier pay runs in line with cash flow and invoice due dates, providing remittance advice as needed.
- Handle Accounts Receivable by raising invoices, contacting debtors, and escalating to a debt collection agency if necessary.
- Oversee payroll processes, including managing pay runs and pension scheme information, and submitting reports to HMRC.
- Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts, profit and loss, and balance sheets, along with weekly financial ‘snapshot' reports.
- Ensure VAT and HMRC compliance, providing regular updates to management.
- Produce detailed P&L reports, monitor company spending, and suggest cost-saving measures.
- Develop financial systems in conjunction with CRM systems and work closely with our accountant.
- Address client payment and invoice queries directly and proactively seek ways to reduce company expenses.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in a small or medium-sized business environment.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Good understanding of project accounting, preferably in construction or similar industries.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in financial analysis and forecasting.
- Excellent grasp of accrual accounting principles.
- Skilled in managing and prioritising multiple tasks.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
