ROLE – Manufacturing Engineer
LOCATION – Manchester
TERM – Permanent
SALARY - £35,000 - £55,000 per annum dependant on experience
I'm working with a great client of mine who work within the manufacturing industry and they are on the lookout for a Manufacturing Engineer in Manchester.
The Manufactruing Engineer will ideally have the following:
- A degree or equivalent certification (HNC/NVQ Level 3) in an engineering discipline.
- Extensive industrial experience, particularly in troubleshooting roles.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Strong skills in data analysis, PC applications, and communication.
- Experience in a similar role is advantageous but not required.
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma is a plus, though not mandatory.
- Project management certification is preferred.
- Previous experience in a highly regulated industry, such as pharmaceuticals or medical devices, is a strong advantage.
The Manufacturing Engineer role will involve:
- Oversee and manage engineering projects to align with operational goals.
- Collaborate with production, planning, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless execution of the maintenance strategy.
- Ensure that all service and regulatory requirements are met on schedule.
- Evaluate maintenance activities and equipment performance, providing insights through engineering reports, KPIs, and identifying areas for process improvement.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting, repair, and modification of equipment and systems.
- Lead the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical equipment to support operational needs.
- Facilitate the transition of new processes and equipment from the engineering phase to manufacturing, including training staff on new technologies.
- Build and manage relationships with external vendors to ensure proper delivery and support for new equipment, installations, and ongoing maintenance.
- Develop and review operational procedures, technical documents, and engineering reports.
- Conduct technical studies to assess the functionality and performance of automated systems and production processes.
- Oversee the qualification of new materials, vendors, and lead investigations into non-conformance events.
- Design automation solutions to enhance production efficiency and address operational challenges.
- Support validation processes for new equipment and production systems, including overseeing installation, operational, and performance qualifications.
