We are seeking a Management Accountant to oversee the accounts. This role involves project analysis, weekly cash reporting, credit control, payroll collation, and expenditure analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with the finance team and various departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Complete and check monthly expenses for all staff, using both Concur and manual expense sheets.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow reports and submit them to the Financial Controller for group cash flow completion.
  • Conduct WIP analysis with variance reporting and challenge any discrepancies.
  • Manage audit file completion and assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Prepare monthly accounts and reconciliations, ensuring all journal entries are posted accurately.
  • Handle VAT information submissions, bank transfer letters, and monthly variance and KPI reports.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and conduct balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Submit PAYE, VAT, CIS, and payroll information to external parties and manage salary payments.
  • Set up and maintain an ongoing audit file for monthly checks by the Financial Controller.
  • File account information regularly and assist with incoming calls and message taking.
  • Produce ad hoc reports as requested and implement variance and KPI reporting systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, credit control, and payroll processes.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including Concur.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with finance staff, managers, and external suppliers.
  • Ability to prepare and analyse WIP reports, cash flows, and financial variances.
  • Knowledge of VAT, CIS/RCT reporting, and maintaining a Fixed Asset Register.
  • Adept at preparing financial forecasts and assisting with budget preparation.
