Apprentice Anti-social Behaviour Assistant

Apprentice Anti-social Behaviour (ASB) Assistant £23,114 per annum pro rata (pay award pending) 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 2-year fixed term apprenticeship contract, apprenticeship starting November 2024 with consideration of permanent officer role on completion

The Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 provides the police, local authorities and other local agencies with powers that they can use to respond quickly and effectively to antisocial behaviour.

We are looking to recruit an Apprentice ASB Assistant who will develop ASB knowledge, skills and behaviours to provide a frontline customer focussed service within the ASB and Tenancy Management team.

The Apprentice ASB Assistant role will be the initial point of contact triaging responses to ASB and community safety issues, providing initial ASB advice and administration support to the team. The apprentice will also work closely with ASB officers and partner agencies to assist in the investigation of ASB and community safety cases to successfully resolve cases with both informal and formal resolutions and during the two years develop knowledge, skills and behaviours to officer level, responding to ASB cases.

Apprentices must have excellent organisational and IT skills including Microsoft Office, the ability to communicate well; have initiative, work well in a team and be able to develop the ability to work with vulnerable people dealing with sensitive issues both on the phone and in person. Candidates will be required to work from the office, to undertake visits in the borough when directed, with the flexibility needed to conduct some out of hours working. Hybrid working may be available after the initial training period.

The apprenticeship is a work based 24-month program completing the Anti-social Behaviour & Community Safety Officer Apprenticeship (Level 4) with Resolve Anti-social Behaviour, apprentices are required to meet the entry criteria for the course with the course and role starting in November 2024.
