Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Exciting Opportunity to Work with pupils with ASD / Mild SEN

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with experience working with students on the autism spectrum? Perhaps you've a passion for making a positive impact on a young person's life through education and support? If so, we have a rewarding opportunity for you!

Tradewind Recruitment are working alongside a well run and inclusive secondary school based in Hertford to source a number of LSA's to work closely with SEN pupils starting school in Year 7 from September. These pupils have various mild SEN requirements and need dedicated LSA's to support them in some classes in a mainstream school setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to pupils with SEN needs and support with classroom activities
  • Assist in implementing personalised learning plans to suit the pupil's needs
  • Support with social interactions and the development of social skills
  • Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to assess the progress and attainment
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or LSA or those with experience supporting young people or adults with autism
  • Or are highly educated and looking for a post in which to start a career within education
  • Possess a genuine passion for supporting young learners
  • Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Show adaptability, patience and a positive attitude
  • Are committed to continuous professional development and learning
