Interim Senior Financial Accountant

Resourcery Group are working with a market leading Financial Services business who are looking for a technical accountant to join their financial reporting team. This is an interim role for circa 9 months to support during a maternity cover and is paid on a day rate via an umbrella company inside IR35. This role can primarily be WFH based or North West with occasional travel to a Group office in the UK. You must have the right to work in the UK and successfully pass background checks to work with this financial services company. This financial accounting role is responsible for the quarterly consolidation of group accounts ensuring that the financial statements are ready for submission.

This Senior Financial Accountant's role is responsible for:

  • Preparing IFRS statements, associated reports and disclosures
  • Carrying out financial and data analysis and compiling reports for various business purposes including:
  • Monitoring and management of business and financial performance
  • Preparatory work for statutory returns and reports and accounts
  • Production of financial reporting MI and accompanying commentary
  • Development and maintenance of strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Communicating and liaising with business and finance colleagues as necessary in order to investigate performance, develop opportunities, maintain alignment and share information.
  • Gathering, validating and compiling quantitative and qualitative information and data, from multiple internal and/or external sources to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Interpreting financial information to determine causality, significance, business impact or implications and developing advice or recommendations for action to be approved by others
  • Ensuring information and interpretation is presented clearly, unambiguously and in a readily comprehensible and appropriate format for the audience and business purpose

The preferred candidate:

  • A fully qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Ideally have prior experience of working in Financial Services (Banking, Insurance etc.)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of financial reporting standards, statutory accounts disclosures and consolidation issues
  • Has a capacity for understanding and managing complex issues
  • Attention to detail
  • Communicates complex and technical matters simply and effectively
  • Apply planning, prioritisation and project management disciplines to meet deadlines
