GEM are working with one of the largest subcontract precision sheet metal fabrication companies in Europe, and a leader in the UK sheet metal fabrication market to recruit TIG Welders for their high-profile facility in Shildon.
Job Description
Starting on dayshift for induction and training before moving onto a 2-shift rotation this person must be a confident TIG welder able to read engineering drawings without assistance.
Duties
The work ranges from day to day using many different material types and thicknesses ranging from, 1mm - 10mm aluminium & 1mm - 3mm stainless steel. There may also be the need to work on mild steel jobs ranging from 1mm - 20mm. The candidate should have at least 24 months welding experience in sheet metal or similar type environment. Must be comfortable reading and interpreting weld symbols. Must be able to work free hand as well as using jigs and fixtures.

Dayshift - Mon-Thurs 8am:5pm
Friday - 8am- 12:30pm
2 Shift Rotation:
Mon - Thurs 2:30pm - 11:00pm
Friday - 12:30pm - 7:00pm
Mon-Thurs 6:00am - 2:30pm
Friday 6:00am - 12:30pm
Rates of pay: £16.80
