Job Title: Trainee Kitchen Designer

Job Location: Guernsey, Channel Islands, Gurnsey

Salary: £35,000 + OTE £40k

Hours: Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm + every other Saturday 8 am-12 pm.

MUST HAVE A FULL DRIVER'S LICENSE AND ACCESS TO YOUR OWN VEHICLE!

Job Purpose: Are you an experienced salesperson with a passion for cooking, entertaining, or interior design? As a Trainee Kitchen Designer at my client's brand-new showroom, you'll use your sales expertise while gaining the skills to design beautiful, functional kitchens that delight our customers. This is an excellent opportunity to grow in a dynamic, creative, and supportive environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Leverage Your Sales Experience:
  • Use your solid sales background to understand customer needs and guide them through the kitchen design process.

  • Collaborate with experienced designers to learn the essentials of kitchen design, including space planning, aesthetics, and functionality.

  1. Engage with Customers:
  • Build strong relationships with customers, using your sales skills to identify their needs and preferences.

  • Assist in creating bespoke kitchen designs that align with customers' lifestyles and budgets, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

  1. Develop Product and Design Knowledge:
  • Become an expert in our extensive range of kitchen products, materials, and finishes.

  • Stay informed about the latest trends in kitchen design, cooking, and interior décor to better serve and inspire customers.

  1. Learn Technical and Design Skills:
  • Gain hands-on experience with industry-standard design software, learning how to create detailed kitchen plans and visualisations.

  • Learn to produce accurate quotes and ensure all designs meet company standards and customer expectations.

  1. Support Sales and Design Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the sales team to provide design insights and ideas that enhance the customer experience.

  • Assist in preparing and presenting design proposals that excite and inspire customers.

  1. Deliver Exceptional Customer Service:
  • Provide friendly and helpful advice to customers, ensuring they feel supported throughout the design and purchase process.

  • Address customer queries and concerns with a positive, solution-focused approach.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A strong background in sales with a proven track record of success.
  • A genuine interest in cooking, entertaining, or interior design—your passion will drive your success!
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues alike.
  • A creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and design.
  • Willingness to learn and embrace new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with design software is a plus but not required.
