Freight Pricing Manager Overview:

The Pricing Manager is tasked with developing and implementing effective pricing strategies. This role involves analysing market conditions, competitor pricing, and cost structures to ensure the company's pricing remains competitive. Collaborating closely with sales, operations, product teams, and other key stakeholders, the Pricing Manager aims to achieve pricing objectives and drive process improvements within the pricing function.

Freight Pricing Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and execute pricing strategies that align with company goals, market conditions, and customer expectations.
  • Continuously monitor and analyse pricing strategies to identify opportunities for differentiation and competitive advantage.
  • Analyse and understand the cost structures associated with Air, Ocean and Courier services, ensuring that pricing covers costs while maintaining competitiveness.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market fluctuations, and regulatory changes that could impact pricing decisions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to balance pricing decisions with targets, considering factors like volume discounts and negotiations.
  • Prepare and deliver pricing proposals to potential customers, sales teams, and existing clients.
  • Negotiate pricing with customers, in close collaboration with Product Managers to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of pricing agreements and related documents.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on pricing performance to share with the wider organisation.
  • Continuously assess and enhance pricing processes, tools, and workflows to increase efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness within the pricing function.

The right person will have the following:

  • Proven experience in freight forwarding pricing or a related field, with a strong understanding of supply chain and transportation logistics.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and pricing modelling.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Knowledge of CargoWise One, WebCargo, Microsoft Dynamics Customer Service, Global Price Management (GPM), and Power BI.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • High level of attention to detail, balanced by the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Collaborative team player with strong influencing skills.
  • Commercial acumen and the capability to collaborate with Sales and Product teams.
