About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Autism and ADHD to join a dynamic and supportive team. In this role, you will be working within our SEND provision, embedded in a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school. You will play a crucial role in supporting children with their individual needs, ensuring they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children with Autism and ADHD within a mainstream classroom setting.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to adapt and differentiate learning materials.
  • Support the emotional well-being of students, using strategies that help manage anxiety and other challenges.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social interaction skills.
  • Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Facilitate a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

About You:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with Autism and ADHD is essential. Experience in a primary school setting is highly desirable.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special educational needs (e.g., CACHE Level 3, SEN Diploma) are preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, and a deep understanding of the needs of children with Autism and ADHD.
  • Personal Attributes: Empathetic, proactive, and resilient, with a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
