An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join a leading construction company. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving the impact and understanding of financial reporting on business performance, providing analysis and delivering insight linking financials to business strategy. With a competitive salary of £85,000 - £90,000 and based in Manchester, this is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified accountant to join an industry leading business as they go through a sustained period of growth.
As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial direction of our client's operations. You will be tasked with improving the impact of financial reporting on business performance by providing insightful analysis that links financials to business strategy. Your responsibilities will also include supporting the Regional FD in maintaining and controlling the current reporting platform and processes. You will ensure that all reporting is accurate, timely and underpinned by a robust framework of controls and reconciliations. Your role will extend to attending VCR meetings/Contract reviews, auditing VCRs and ensuring that operating units report contract performance correctly.
- Improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting on business performance by providing analysis and delivering insight linking financials to business strategy.
- Support and work with the Regional FD to maintain and control the current reporting platform and processes.
- Ensure reporting is delivered with quality in a timely manner, accurately ensuring a framework of controls and reconciliations exists to underpin the whole data set.
- Attend VCR meetings / Contract reviews, Audit VCRs; ensure operating units properly report contract performance.
- Support the Central Finance Reporting team as required with management accounts, cash reporting, statutory accounts, forecasts and group reporting.
- Manage and develop the reporting inputs, engaging with the local Finance Teams to deliver a first-class end-to-end finance service.
- Oversee production of monthly MAPS, overhead cost reports, profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and management accounts.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Finance Business Partner role is a fully qualified accountant with at least 3 years post qualification experience. You should be able to produce high quality management information and have strong systems skills, with a preference for Oracle and Power BI. Your ability to build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams will be crucial in this role. Confidence to influence and challenge strategy is also key. Construction industry experience, technical capability and commercial awareness are essential.
- Fully Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Ability to produce high quality management information.
- Strong systems skills - Oracle and Power BI is a preference, but not essential.
- Ability to build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams.
- Confidence to influence and challenge strategy.
- Construction industry experience. Technically capable and commercially aware.
