Library Administrator (Temporary)
Location: Cardiff City Centre
Hours: Part-time, 29.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri)
Contract: Temporary cover until Christmas 2024
About the Role:
Hoop Professional Services is excited to be recruiting for a
Library Administrator
to join a busy, learner-focused team at a thriving educational institution. This is an excellent opportunity to provide vital support to both students and staff in a welcoming environment. You will be responsible for handling learner queries, issuing and returning books, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the library.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver excellent customer service, assisting learners with queries (e.g., password resets)
- Monitor and maintain the library space to ensure an organised and supportive environment
- Issue and manage book loans using the library's database system
- Provide support and guidance to students using the library's services
- Carry out general administration tasks to support library operations

- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Confident with digital systems and library management software
- A positive, proactive attitude in a fast-paced, busy environment
- Organised and detail-oriented with good time management skills

Working Hours:
- Monday: 10:00-14:00
- Tuesday: 8:30-16:00 (with a 30-minute break)
- Wednesday: 8:30-16:30 (with a 30-minute break)
- Thursday: 10:00-16:00
- Friday: 8:30-16:00 (with a 30-minute break)
Salary:
Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience.
