We are seeking an Administrator to join a leading public sector organisation within the Children and Young People's team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality business and administrative support to managers and staff, contributing to the operational services provided by the Children & Young People's Directorate.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver an effective administration and business support service, including bulk data input, typing, diary management, photocopying, and producing correspondence.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the team, handling routine enquiries and requests for information from colleagues, partners, and the public.
  • Assist with the administration of financial tasks under the guidance of a line manager, such as ordering goods and services, processing invoices, and managing petty cash.
  • Arrange meetings and conferences, including room bookings, agenda preparation, and minute-taking, ensuring minutes are circulated promptly.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of business administration systems and procedures.
  • Familiarity with data protection, confidentiality, and information security principles.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office or equivalent.
  • Experience communicating confidently with staff at various levels, partners, and the public.
  • Relevant experience within a similar administrative function.
  • Experience within Local Government or a confidential environment is desirable.
  • Experience in minute-taking.
